Saddle Rock families are taking part in their own service-learning projects!
1/28/15: Our family has volunteered at the Hebrew Union College Soup Kitchen located on West 4th Street in the city. This is a great opportunity for families to make a difference by donating their time to serving the guests at the soup kitchen, offering assistance in finding needed clothing items, and just offering a friendly smile. The soup kitchen is opened every Monday afternoon and people must call in advance to sign up to volunteer.

We love to donate books to children in the city through New York Cares Winter Wishes. Children make a list of things they want to learn more about such as unicorns, painting, and dinosaurs, and we send them books about the topics they list. Here is the information for anyone interested:
